Sharing my recruitment experience with ASKTax Consulting. I received an offer on Thursday and asked for clarification on the salary, benefits, and responsibilities. The initial deadline to decide was Friday night, but I was subsequently given until Monday. Before 6:40 a.m. on Monday, I received an email saying the position had been filled and my offer was no longer valid. When I questioned the timing, HR explained that Monday was the latest deadline, that I could have responded over the weekend, and that recruitment had continued. However, I had not been told that the offer could be withdrawn while I was still within the response period they had given me. I understand that companies have hiring timelines and other candidates. But if an offer remains subject to availability, that should be clearly communicated. Being given until Monday and having the offer withdrawn before Monday’s working hours even began was frustrating.
